The Auto BodyTechnician thoroughly disassembles, repairs, and reassembles eachvehicle while playing a pivotal role to our company's promise ofspeed, quality and customer excellence. KeyJob Responsibilities
Ensureconsistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way)plan.
Plansthe repair work that is necessary and prepares cost estimates forcustomers. Uses various tools such as cutting guns, plasmacutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair sections ofavehicle.
Hammersout dents, dimples, and other minor body damage if possible; mixesand applies filler resins to repair dents when other methodsare notfeasible.
Realignscar chassis and frames to repair structuraldamage.
Removesdamaged sections of vehicles and replaces them with new oraftermarket parts. Replaces or repairs glass and windshields asneeded.
Replacesor repairs interior parts asneeded.
Weldsand otherwise attaches or fits parts into place and Prepares andrepaints vehicles with factory-specified paint or agreed-uponequivalent.
Attemptsto complete work orders within labor time guidelines. Ensuresall work has been executed correctly by inspecting vehicles afterrepair.
Performsother related duties as assigned.
Educationand/or Experience Required
Highschool diploma or equivalentrequired.
Successfulcompletion of technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeshipas an auto bodyrepairer.
RequiredSkills/Abilities
Abilityto read job orders and work with very littlesupervision.
Abilityto work with other repairers within an auto bodyshop.
Thoroughunderstanding of methods and procedures to repair vehiclebodies.
Thoroughunderstanding of how to use tools required for thetrade.
OtherRequirements
Mustbe able to work safely in a noisy area with many odorspresent.
Mustbe able to lift up to 30 pounds attimes.
Mustbe able to visually inspect vehicle damage in a variety of weatherconditions.
Mustbe able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs andinspections.
